September wedding at Enterkine House with whimsical meadow flowers

February 26, 2026

A romantic, dreamy wedding Enterkine House with meadow vibes and whimsical florals - Chloe and Ross

Chloe and Ross’ beautiful September wedding was my first time working at Enterkine House and I loved the bright airy space they have for weddings.

Enterkine Country House Resort is surrounded by 350 acres of woodland and grounds. It’s super close to Glasgow and all the city’s accommodation and travel links, but you really do feel like you’re out in the countryside.

Built in the 1930s, Enterkine House started life as a family home before being converted into a luxurious country house wedding venue. Inside it’s a beautiful mix of traditional features combined with contemporary design.

Chloe and Ross had chosen a more romantic, whimsical wedding theme with lots of pastels alongside some pops of burgundy and of course my favourite meadow style flowers. The decor looked fab in Enterkine’s bespoke wedding barn, with huge floor to ceiling windows and oak beams. There are incredible views out over the grounds to the River Ayre and it has a fantastic “outside in” vibe. Perfect whatever the weather, which is always handy in Scotland!

The Pavilion is such a nice, light, airy space. The sun was streaming in, and there was a beautifully summery feel to the day. Chloe and Ross had a lovely colour combination - sage greens, peach and pale blush pinks with pops of burgundy and raspberry. The colours worked really well together and looked fab with the existing, fairly muted tones of the Pavilion.

The whole day took place in the Oak & Glass Pavilion, which meant that all Chloe and Ross’ wedding decor needed to be completed and in place ahead of the ceremony. In venues where the ceremony and reception take place in separate rooms then suppliers can continue to work on decor as the ceremony is going on, quietly and out of sight. It’s always worth keeping this in mind when it comes to choosing your venue and chatting through plans with your suppliers. Just so everyone is on the same page and knows what needs to happen and when.

Chloe’s bridal bouquet was one of my signature, front facing bouquets. They’re a really popular choice. This style of bouquet is slightly flatter at the back and wider at the edges. We used lots of seasonal flowers, including dahlias which are a key flower in late summer/autumn. There were also lovely scented roses, cosmos, astrantia, honeysuckle and tendrils of jasmine. We wanted to use the romantic garden flowers, and of course any which give off a lovely scent.

To add a bit of depth we added some burgundy foliage. It's so dark compared to the lighter tones, the contrast made for a dramatic colour combo.

Chloe’s bridesmaids all wore different coloured dresses. I’m really enjoying the current fashion for that. They went for sage green, burgundy and a lovely peachy blush pink. Chloe’s three bridesmaids all looked great and it was a fab way of bringing the different wedding colours together too.

Opting for differing colours and styles of dresses works really well because, let's be honest, your bridesmaids are unlikely to have the same skin tones, hair colour etc. It’s nice to allow them to feel more like themselves and at their best.

The bridesmaid posies were inspired by Chloe’s bouquet, smaller and with a slightly more round shape. Like Chloe’s bouquet, these were filled with seasonal blooms. Most of the flowers were Scottish - grown by me or from a local flower farm.

The groomsmen (and their adorable pageboy) were in traditional kilts, with tweed jackets. They opted for thistle buttonholes, an extremely popular choice for a Scot! I incorporated rosemary and sage green foliage to match the elements and colours of the wedding. The buttonholes were bound with twine for that muted colour which went well with the tweed of their outfits.

The ceremony space was lovely to decorate. The broken arch - not literally a broken arch, rather two separate columns - looked fab silhouetted against the tall windows. I used beech, copper beech (a lovely burgundy colour), green beech and birch. Lots of leafy foliage to make up the columns before filling it with dahlias and roses. To bring in the delicate, wafty meadow vibes we added cosmos and scabious. The arch was all foam free, as I don’t use any single use plastics in my work.

There’s lots of natural wood in the Pavilion, which worked really well with the woodland, elfin feel of the arch and flowers. Chloe’s long, flowing veil and the lace elements of her dress only added to the romantic, dreamy vibes.

From wedding ceremony to reception flowers

The classic, romantic feel carried on through to the wedding breakfast. Chloe and Ross had opted for a more traditional set up, with a top table and round tables, all named after their favourite bands.

The guest tables had fabric runners, either sage green or peach pink, on top of crisp white linens. The tables were decorated with gold edged picture frames containing the table name and song lyrics, along with pink and green unicorn candles. A lovely name for a very lovely looking candle!

Three bud vases filled with seasonal flowers completed the decor. Again, dahlias were the star of the show. They’re just so fab and a real favourite of mine. I grow lots of dahlias and I can never resist buying even more dahlia tubers whenever I see them, so my collection is expanding year on year! There’s so much choice if you go for dahlias in your wedding flowers, they come in all different shapes, colours and sizes. There are fantastic ones that look like a firework as well as cactus and pom pom headed varieties.

We added burgundy and green foliages for contrast and depth as well as wispy meadow flowers and wafty foliage to add a bit of movement and whimsey. Lovely wee tealights complemented the taller candles and gave off a lovely, twinkly effect. We really took Ross and Chloe’s romantic vibes and ran with it!
